The Town Dock is located at the centre of Penetanguishene’s beautiful and historic harbour. It is currently home to the Tourist Information Centre (TIC), boat slips, boat launch, and staging area for snowmobiles accessing Georgian Bay during the winter months. It is also home to the “World Famous” Dock Lunch – an institution that has been enjoyed by the community and visitors for decades.

The Town Dock lands, as they exist today, are underutilized, and significant investment is required in the near future. A Secondary Plan for the Town Dock can help address these issues by providing a detailed policy framework that identifies opportunities for reinvestment.

The Town Dock Secondary Plan seeks to set the policy framework to maintain and improve the Town Dock, including better connecting it to the Downtown, by planning for a balanced and coordinated approach to directing future change and growth. The Secondary Plan is accompanied by a Master Plan, which illustrates the evolution of the Town Dock lands for years to come.
