An extension to the required completion date for the Town Dock Study was granted to June 2021 by the Council of the County of Simcoe on November 10, 2020, as a result of the pandemic.
The purpose of the study is to examine potential new uses, direct high-level land use planning policies to guide development, and assist with future investment decisions. The goals of the study are as follows:
maximize potential land uses
establish a framework for future private sector investment
prepare for future capital infrastructure projects.

A Visioning Workshop was held virtually on Wednesday, February 3. A recording of the Visioning Workshop is included under the Public Consultation Tab on the project webpage.
Participants provided valuable feedback assessing the current conditions at the Town Dock as well as opportunities and challenges in the future. The purpose of the Looking Ahead survey is to share what we heard at the Visioning Workshop and if we “got it right”. The Survey will also provide an opportunity for you to share any final thoughts you have on the visioning portion of the project before moving into more clearly defined policy alternatives and recommendations.
